Women in leadership celebrated in Korea

Korea’s Minister for Gender Equality, Kang Eunhee, Legislators Yoon Jong-Pil and Kim Soon Rye, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paik Ji-ah, took part together with a lively group of current and future women leaders from business, government, academia, media and diplomacy.
Ambassador Fearnley took the opportunity to address the issue of women in international leadership roles, including Helen Clark’s candidacy for the United Nations Secretary General position.
She, and a group of 12 female Ambassadors resident in Seoul, highlighted the progress made on gender equality in a number of countries - including in New Zealand, which has the lowest gender wage gap in the OECD.
To cap off a wonderful evening, internet singing phenomenon Lydia Lee, who studied in New Zealand, performed her original song Grey to Green for the group.
