New Zealand is closer politically, economically and culturally to Australia than to any other country.

The NZ Inc Australia Strategy has the following five-year goals:

  1. Strengthen political ties, including stronger links with Australian states.
  2. Collaborate for more effective responses to common and new security challenges.
  3. Increase trade intensity in goods and services.
  4. Grow investment between the two countries, and coordinate taxation on investment.
  5. Make our science relationship more commercial and more cooperative.
  6. Stay focused on closer economic integration, ranging from common regulations to a Single Economic Market.

The NZ Inc Australia Strategy plays an important role in the Government’s Business Growth Agenda, which aims to grow our exports from 30% to 40% of GDP by 2025.
