Minister Peters spoke on 8 June with Cook Islands Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon Mark Brown.
They discussed the likely long term economic impact of COVID-19, including on the Pacific tourism sector.
Mr Peters affirmed New Zealand’s commitment to continue to work closely with Pacific Island countries to manage the impacts of the virus.
Both agreed to stay in close contact to advance priorities for the bilateral relationship.
