Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke yesterday with Fiji’s Foreign Minister Inia Seruiratu to discuss the two countries responses to COVID-19.
Mr Peters thanked Mr Seruiratu for Fiji’s support with the safe repatriation of a number of New Zealand citizens from Fiji.
The Ministers agreed that the two countries should continue to work closely together to find options for the safe repatriation of remaining Fijian citizens in New Zealand and New Zealand citizens in Fiji.
The Ministers acknowledged the importance of regional cooperation as Pacific Island countries increasingly contend with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 global pandemic.
