Minister Peters spoke on 1 July with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Marshall Islands, Hon Casten Nemra.
They discussed the importance of effective regional co-ordination for the Pacific region, particularly in light of the challenges posed by COVID-19.
The Ministers shared New Zealand and Marshall Islands’ respective experiences with managing the virus.
Minister Nemra thanked New Zealand for the support it had provided to the Marshall Islands for managing COVID-19.
The Ministers agreed to stay in close contact to advance issues of importance to the bilateral relationship.
