Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke on 17 June with Tonga’s Prime Minister Hon Dr Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa.
They discussed the benefits of multilateralism and regional co-operation.
They also exchanged views on a range of bilateral issues, including the ongoing challenge of the global pandemic, COVID-19.
They agreed the two countries would stay in close contact to assist Tongan nationals in New Zealand.
