Foreign Minister Winston Peters' call with Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Reinsalu - Readout, 30 April 2020

Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke on 30 April with Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Reinsalu to discuss the two countries’ responses to the challenges presented by COVID-19, as well as Estonia’s upcoming Presidency of the United Nations Security Council during the month of May.

The Ministers spoke about the impact the virus has had on their respective populations and the opportunities for further cooperation as countries began to ease their restrictions and, in time, recover from the crisis.

New Zealand’s congratulations were extended to Estonia for its imminent Presidency of the Security Council and full support was offered in this respect for a successful month ahead.
