New Zealand has a long-standing development cooperation partnership with Indonesia, including readily responding to disasters where required such as the sharp spike in cases they are currently facing.

New Zealand previously contributed NZ$11.2 million in assistance for the COVID-19 situation in Indonesia, including support for prevention and risk communication, vaccine roll-out planning, PCR testing capability, and the delivery of personal protective equipment and hygiene supplies.
