New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta received a congratulatory phone call from the UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab today.
Minister Mahuta and Secretary Raab discussed the strength of the relationship and the opportunities to deepen our connections by working together to address some of the most pressing global and regional challenges. They discussed their shared ambition to do more on climate change, as the UK prepares to host COP26 next year. The Ministers discussed the response and recovery from COVID-19, including opportunities to work together on equitable access to vaccines. Ministers noted their deep concern at the recent expulsion of UK diplomats from Belarus. The Ministers also discussed progress in our free trade negotiations and aspirations for an ambitious outcome.
