New Zealand is internationally recognised for the quality of its education system, including its universities with many graduates going on to postgraduate study at universities overseas -- Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States being the most common destinations. Many New Zealand graduates attract prizes and scholarships to attend foreign universities.
Throughout Asia and the South Pacific it is not unusual to find senior people in business and government who have attended New Zealand universities.
