Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke today with Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodoro Ribera, to reaffirm the importance of the bilateral relationship and to discuss current challenges resulting from the COVID19 global pandemic.
In particular, the conversation was an opportunity to discuss the two countries’ policy decisions with respect to international travel and to acknowledge the appreciated cooperation to date, under unusual circumstances.
The two Ministers undertook to ensure that Chile and New Zealand continued to work urgently together to try and resolve ongoing issues being faced by Chilean and New Zealand citizens impacted by travel restrictions.
