On 5 June 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke with the Premier of Tasmania Peter Gutwein to discuss developments with respect to the Trans-Tasman travel ‘Bubble’ and, in particular, the possibility of travel between New Zealand and Tasmania.
Mr Peters and Mr Gutwein discussed the potential opportunities, the challenges with respect to the technical arrangements, and the role for the Australian Federal Government in decisions about who enters the country.
