Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke yesterday afternoon with Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.
The two Ministers discussed how Singapore and New Zealand could continue to cooperate in meeting the collective challenge of COVID-19, including by working together on keeping freight lines open and sharing relevant technological expertise.
Minister Peters noted how important it was to the people of Singapore and New Zealand to have access to essential products, such as foodstuffs and medicine.
The Ministers discussed the strategic location of Singapore, as a vital transit and transhipment point in the Asia-Pacific region.
Minister Peters underscored the importance to New Zealand of its comprehensive strategic partnership with Singapore.
