Consul-General Michael Zhang
Michael took up his appointment as Consul-General in December 2024. Prior to this he served as Education Counsellor at the New Zealand Embassy in Beijing and Regional Director – Greater China for Education New Zealand (2022-2024). His previous China postings have also included Acting Consul-General in Guangzhou (2021) and Deputy Consul-General in Chengdu (2015-2018). Michael has worked on a range of New Zealand based roles, including foreign policy roles covering North America, the Caribbean, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as managing New Zealand’s bilateral International Development Cooperation programme for Samoa.
Michael has also worked in the legal and tertiary education sectors in New Zealand.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.

新西兰驻广州总领事馆
张典于2024年12月就任新西兰驻广州总领事。在赴穗履新前，他在新西兰驻华大使馆担任教育参赞一职，并同时担任新西兰教育国际推广局大中华区主任（2022-2024）。张典曾多次派驻中国，其中包括新西兰驻广州总领事馆代总领事 （2021）和新西兰驻成都总领事馆副总领事（2015-2018）。 他在新西兰外交贸易部还曾负责北美、加勒比和东南亚国家联盟 (ASEAN) 的外交政策，以及管理新西兰针对萨摩亚的双边国际发展合作项目。 张典还曾在法律部门工作，并在新西兰担任大学辅导老师。
张典拥有惠灵顿维多利亚大学法学（荣誉）学士学位和商业与管理学士学位。
