Purpose
The New Zealand High Commission Fund - Kingdom of Tonga (the Fund) supports small scale, short-term community projects that contribute to wider community development and well-being. Projects must be in line with the New Zealand Aid Programme's mission of:
"Sustainable development in developing countries, in order to reduce poverty and contribute to a more secure, equitable and properous world".
Who can apply
The Fund is aimed primarily at community groups and Non Government Organisations but other types of not-for profit organisations, e.g. schools, business associations, may apply. Check with the New Zealand High Commission if you are not sure whether your group is eligible to apply for funding for the next round.
Project duration
Our preference is that approved projects are completed within one year.
Budget
The fund for a single project is generally up to TOP$30,000.
Project Implementation
An Implementation Plan clearly illustrates the key stages of your project from the start until the end including the different inputs required in your application form. In effect, a project timeline of key tasks for the project with resources is required.
Project Budget Summary
Clearly show costs you would like funded and provide an appropriate budget stating relevant costs for your project.
Application Process
Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible when the Fund re-opens.
Ensure you read the criteria thoroughly before submitting an application. As resources are limited we will prioritise projects that align with the above themes and criteria.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
All applicants will be notified by email of the result of their application.
