PACDAC (Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control)

The Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control (PACDAC) is a committee of experts that advises the Government on disarmament and arms control. It was established by the 1987 New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament and Arms Control Act.

MFAT is the secretariat for the Committee.

The current Chair of PACDAC is the Hon Todd McClay. The other members of the Committee are:

  • Martin Donoghue
  • Jamila Homayun
  • Edwina Hughes
  • Ena Manuireva
  • Lucy Stewart

Committee members are appointed for a three-year term.
