Development cooperation partnership with Cambodia

New Zealand supports Cambodia to achieve sustainable economic growth, grow its agriculture sector, and develop a more highly skilled and educated workforce.

The development cooperation partnership with Cambodia supports ASEAN’s commitment to narrow the development gap between its members.

Despite strong economic growth since the 1990s, Cambodia is ranked 148 out of 193 countries in the United Nation’s Human Development.

Our development cooperation is made up of activities delivered specifically in Cambodia, as well as multi-country and regional initiatives, and Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships. Our country-specific development investment in Cambodia focus on areas that Cambodia has prioritised and where New Zealand’s expertise is most valued, such as agriculture, mine action, and knowledge and skills.
