Our relationship with Argentina

New Zealand enjoys a friendly, cooperative relationship with Argentina. We are partners on issues of mutual interest, including LBGTQI+ rights and Antarctica and the Southern Ocean, and we work together on a range of issues such as conservation, nuclear disarmament, and climate smart agriculture.

A two-way working holiday scheme gives young citizens the opportunity to visit and work in Argentina and New Zealand. We also share a passion for rugby, and the sport has provided a number of opportunities to strengthen connections between us through coaching and player exchanges.
