Charlotte Darlow
New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji
The High Commissioner H.E. Ms Charlotte Darlow comes to Fiji from her previous role as the Divisional Manager for Pacific Regional Division at the New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
For the last five years she has been a member of the senior leadership team for the New Zealand Aid Programme, and governed the Pacific Regional development programme spend (NZ$280 million).
In 2020, Ms Darlow completed several temporary assignments as part of New Zealand’s response to COVID-19.
Ms Darlow joined the New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2000. She was the Deputy in the Ministry’s United Nations, Human Rights and Commonwealth Division during New Zealand’s term on the United Nations Security Council.
She has a background in multilateral diplomacy, specialising in environmental, international security, and human rights issues, and has worked in the major multilateral centres of New York, Geneva, Suva, Vienna and Nairobi.
Ms Darlow has held a range of other roles in the Ministry, including with Pacific Division, Climate Change Division, Environment Division, and Americas Division.
Ms Darlow is married to Dr Ben Darlow, and they have two children.
