Team Administrator (Finance)
The New Zealand Consulate-General in Los Angeles is seeking to recruit a Team Administrator (Finance) to provide general administration support with a particular emphasis on financial reporting and analysis activities to help ensure the efficient and smooth running of the post.
This is a locally engaged position based in Los Angeles. Applicants should be a New Zealand National or Dual NZ/US citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Government “Confidential” security clearance. The Consulate-General does not provide assistance with airfares or accommodation.
The Team Administrator (Finance) will be responsible for:
Developing and tracking the Consulate budget, making payments, managing cash balances and providing monthly financial reports
Assisting with organising staff travel, administering staff leave and salary payments
Assisting with property maintenance and purchases
Assisting in arranging and organising of functions, meetings, presentations, conferences and workshops including venues, catering and associated agendas and documents as appropriate
Assist with coordination of Ministerial and other high-level visitor programmes including logistical arrangements
- Act as central point for all IT problems at Post and coordination with MFAT Service centre for resolution.
The successful appointee would ideally be available to commence duties May 2017.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a relevant business or formal qualification and/or significant previous experience and knowledge of financial management and reporting. Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work under pressure are essential. Strong written and oral communication skills are also required.
The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must have the right to work in the United States. The Consulate-General will assist with applying for the appropriate work visa if the applicant does not already have work authorisation for the USA.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential New Zealand Government security clearance.
