In 2019, New Zealand prepared its first report on progress towards the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The report covered all 17 SDGs with a focus on how we delivered outcomes most relevant to New Zealand.
It outlined New Zealand’s approach to the SDGs and reflected our commitment to productive, sustainable and inclusive economic development.
The report highlighted challenges as well as successes, and identified areas where further work was needed.
