The programme aims to support increasing prosperity for all in this rapidly developing country. Recognising Indonesia’s priority to close the gap between least and most developed sub-regions of the country, we focus on the least-developed provinces in Eastern Indonesia, as well as supporting national level programmes.
Shared vision
We have a Statement of Partnership with Indonesia covering 2024-2029. This sets out the principles, commitments, priorities and understandings that will guide cooperation and engagement between the Governments of New Zealand and the Republic of Indonesia in identified areas of development cooperation.
What we are supporting
We support Indonesia’s transformation to highly skilled workforce, self-sufficient in food and clean energy through climate and economic resilience (especially with accelerating renewable and geothermal energy development); and through human and inclusive development.
Our development cooperation with Indonesia is made up of activities delivered specifically in Indonesia, as well as multi-country and regional initiatives, and Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships.
