Notarial services in Spain

In certain circumstances, staff at this embassy are able to witness affidavits, affirmations, statutory declarations and other documents for use under New Zealand law. Call the consular staff to make an appointment. Payment must be made via a bank transfer prior to the service. We do not have the facility to take cash.

The fees for services are:

  • Certified true copy of an original document €30. Documents required: Original document.
  • Witnessing signatures on documents €60. Documents required: Original document to be witnessed and your New Zealand passport. We recommend sending the document that requires witnessing to madrid@embajadanuevazelanda.com. After reviewing the document, we will contact you to confirm whether we can provide this notarial service. We are not able to witness signatures on a power of attorney.
  • Certificado de Solteria €60. Documents required: the original Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (with the Apostille Certificate).
  • Certificate on the publication of "edicts" €60. Documents required: New Zealand passport. We can issue a certificate in Spanish that states this is not a requirement in New Zealand.
  • Taking of an affidavit, affirmation or declaration €60. Documents required: New Zealand passport.
  • Verification of Spanish Foreign Ministry signatures €90. Documents required: Original document, duly signed by the Spanish Foreign Ministry.
