CEP agreement 2000 

The CEP agreement is the original treaty that was negotiated from 1999-2000 and entered into force in 2001.

Agreement between New Zealand and Singapore on a Closer Economic Partnership

Status: Signed 14 November 2000.  Entered into force 1 January 2001. The agreement was amended in 2004 by exchange of letters in order to make changes to Annex 4.1: Technical, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Regulations and Standards.

CEP upgrade (in force)

The CEP upgrade entered into force on 1 January 2020. The upgrade consists of two treaty-level instruments (1) a Protocol which amends the original CEP agreement from 2000, and (2) a mutual recognition agreement on conformity assessment; and two non-binding side letters covering (1) professional qualification recognition, and (2) the relationship between the Protocol and other free trade agreements between New Zealand and Singapore.
