Our development cooperation partnerships in Sub-Saharan Africa focus on areas that African developing country partners have prioritised and where New Zealand’s expertise is most valued.
New Zealand’s development investments in the Sub-Saharan region comprises several multi-country activities. We support climate-smart agriculture and geothermal energy sector development, including through the engagement of technical support by New Zealand government and private sector experts. Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships, and other training opportunities are made available to the broader Africa region. New Zealand also contributes to humanitarian crisis response.
