The AU$25.5 million Development and Economic Cooperation Work Programme funded by Australia and New Zealand is enabling Pacific Parties to implement PACER Plus and enjoy its trade and economic benefits. Funds are used to:
- Modernise customs and clearance systems
- Reduce biosecurity risks
- Meet technical regulations and standards
- Facilitate increased cross-border trade in services
- Promote Pacific exports
- Modernise immigration processes
- Attract investment into local enterprises
- Advance regional labour mobility cooperation and initiatives
PACER Plus Parties determine agree priorities and allocate funding to deliver the Development and Economic Cooperation Work Programme, and the PPIU manages the operation of the programme.
